“Freedom of Russia Legion” in the enemy’s rear: enemy UAV control point destroyed
The volunteer formation “Freedom of Russia Legion” carried out a night raid behind the lines of Russia’s 35th Motorized Rifle Brigade and destroyed the enemy’s drone control center. The fighters managed to approach the occupiers’ positions unnoticed and eliminated their personnel and equipment almost without a fight.
The target of the raid was the UAV control point of the 35th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade — the place from which the occupiers coordinated the operation of their drones.
According to the fighters, they chose nighttime for the attack, taking advantage of the terrain and weather conditions. This allowed them to come almost point-blank and catch the Russians off guard. “We approached quietly, did our job, and left just as quietly,” the group said.
During the strike, seven Russian soldiers were killed and one was wounded. Some of the equipment and documents were taken by the Ukrainian fighters — the rest was destroyed on-site to prevent the occupiers from restoring the control point’s operations.
The Legion emphasized that such raids are a way to “disrupt the enemy’s logistics and command where they feel safest.” Video from the operation confirms that the occupiers’ facilities and equipment were completely neutralized.
