A massive attack by Russia left consumers without power in seven regions of Ukraine

As a result of a massive Russian missile and drone attack on the morning of August 20, consumers in seven regions of Ukraine were left without electricity.

Power outages were reported in Kyiv, as well as in the Kyiv, Donetsk, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions.

Where the security situation allows, utility workers have already begun emergency repair and restoration work. Specialists are working to restore power to consumers as quickly as possible.

According to Ukrenergo, electricity consumption remains at seasonal levels. As of 9:30 a.m., it was roughly the same as at that time the previous day.

At the same time, Ukrainians have been urged to shift their heavy electricity use to daytime hours.

It is recommended to use high-power electrical appliances primarily between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently.

However, between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., the public is asked to limit electricity consumption as much as possible.

On the night of August 19–20, Russia launched a massive combined strike against Ukraine, using ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as attack drones.
