Large-scale fires and destruction: consequences of enemy shelling of Odesa

On the night of 8 February, Russia carried out an attack on Odesa, resulting in numerous fires and widespread destruction. Local channels published videos showing significant damage to residential buildings and infrastructure, including a fire breaking out on the roof of a high-rise building and damage to a gas pipeline.

The Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, stated that information regarding the number of casualties is still being clarified.

Earlier, during shelling on the night of 4 February, two people were injured, and two kindergartens and a school were damaged. Firefighting units continue to work to eliminate the consequences of the attack, but the data on casualties are not yet final.

This escalation of violence highlights the severity of the threats facing civilians in the region and requires an urgent response from the authorities to restore infrastructure and ensure the safety of citizens. Further steps, including damage assessment and the provision of assistance to those affected, are critically important in the context of this crisis.

On the night of 9 February, Russian occupying forces carried out an attack on the Kharkiv region using drones, as a result of which settlements in the Malodanylivka community were affected.
