There have been 189 clashes on the front lines, with the heaviest fighting taking place near Pokrovsk

Over the past 24 hours, 189 combat engagements were recorded along the front line, with the heaviest fighting taking place in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole sectors. Ukrainian defense forces are inflicting losses on the enemy and repelling numerous assaults. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.

 

Throughout May 28, the situation on the front line remained extremely tense, as, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there were 189 combat engagements with Russian invaders, who actively employed aircraft, kamikaze drones, and massive shelling of Ukrainian military positions and populated areas. The General Staff reports that the enemy carried out 54 airstrikes, dropped 162 guided bombs, and deployed nearly 4,000 drones and over 1,500 artillery strikes, indicating a high level of combat intensity across the entire front line.

The most challenging situation is observed in the Pokrovsk direction, where the enemy carried out 25 attacks, attempting to advance in the area of several settlements; however, Ukrainian troops are holding their positions and inflicting losses on the enemy—specifically, dozens of occupiers were eliminated there, along with military equipment and a large number of enemy drones.

Separately, active combat operations are reported in the Huliaipole sector, where 22 attacks took place, as well as in other sections of the front, including the Lyman, Kostyantynivka, Kupiansk, and Sloviansk sectors, where Ukrainian units are repelling assaults and preventing the enemy from advancing.

According to General Staff estimates, in the Pokrovsk direction alone, 43 invaders were killed and another 17 wounded over the past 24 hours; a tank, artillery, vehicles, and communications equipment were also destroyed, significantly hampering Russian units’ ability to launch further attacks.

Military officials note that despite numerous assaults and shelling, the situation in most sectors remains under control, and Ukrainian defense forces continue to hold their positions and repel the enemy’s offensive actions.

On the night of May 27, drones attacked Tuapse in the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation. According to preliminary information, a local oil refinery—one of the key energy facilities in southern Russiamay have been hit. Details regarding the consequences of the attack are being clarified.

On the night of May 20, a series of explosions rocked the Stavropol Krai of Russia, followed by reports of damage to the Nevinnomyssk Azot plant. The plant is one of the largest producers of ammonia and ammonium nitrate in the Russian Federation. Information regarding the extent of the damage and the consequences of the attack is being clarified.
