Over the past 24 hours, on August 22, there were 254 clashes between Ukrainian and Russian forces on the front lines. The highest number of attacks was recorded in the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk sectors.
The Russians also carried out active airstrikes and artillery fire. Over the past 24 hours, they carried out 98 airstrikes, dropped 329 guided bombs, launched 11,859 kamikaze drones, and fired 3,318 rounds at Ukrainian military positions and populated areas.
Where the Russians Attacked the Most
In theNorthern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian forces repelled 13 Russian attacks. The enemy also carried out an airstrike with three guided bombs and fired on Ukrainian positions 67 times.
In the Southern Slobozhansky sector, 21 attacks were repelled. Russian units attempted to advance near Izbytske, as well as in the directions of Okhrimivka and Volokhivka.
In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces launched two attacks toward Zagrizove.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian forces repelled nine attacks. Fighting took place near Lyman and in the directions of Stepove, Shyikivka, Kopanok, Novoselivka, and Drobyshove.
In the Sloviansk sector, Russian troops attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses seven times. The attacks took place in the areas of Kryva Luka, Zakitne, and Ozerny, as well as in the directions of Mykolaivka and Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy launched three assaults—in the directions of Minkivka, Yurkivka, and Tykhonivka.
The highest number of attacks occurred near Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk.
The Kostiantynivka sector remained one of the hottest. There, 25 Russian attacks were recorded over the past 24 hours.
Russian forces launched assaults in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and Mykolaipillia, and also attempted to advance toward Novoselivka and Stepanivka.
Ukrainian forces repelled another 24 Russian attacks in the Pokrovsk sector.
The enemy was active near Bilytske, Serhiivka, Molodetske, and Kotlyne. Russian units also launched assaults in the directions of Novopavlivka, Shakove, Kucherove Yar, Novyi Donbas, Shevchenko, Myrne, and Udachne.
The Russians also launched active attacks in the Huliaipole sector, where 15 assaults took place. Fighting took place near Hirky, Charivne, Yegorivka, Vozdvyzhivka, Rivne, Dobropillia, Dolynka, and Verkhnia Tersa.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy attempted to attack four times in the directions of Andriivka-Klevtsove and Nechaivka.
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian forces repelled two Russian attempts to advance toward Pavlivka.
What’s happening in other sectors
In the Dnipro sector, Russian troops did not conduct any assault operations.
The General Staff also detected no signs of Russian offensive groupings forming in the Volyn and Polissya sectors. Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces struck Russian positions. The Defense Forces’ air force, missile forces, and artillery struck three areas where Russian troops were concentrated, four drone control centers, and one command-and-observation post.
In the Sumy region, the towns of Korenok, Ulanove, Bachivsk, Volfyne, Yastrubshchyna, and Luzhky came under Russian shelling. The Russians carried out an airstrike in the Potapivka area.
