Over the past 24 hours, 260 combat engagements were recorded on the front lines
The Ukrainian military command reported that 260 combat engagements took place along the front line on June 8. The Armed Forces of Ukraine note that enemy combat activity remains high across various sectors.
“According to updated information, yesterday the enemy launched two missile strikes using three missiles, carried out 88 airstrikes, and dropped 282 guided bombs. In addition, it deployed 10,282 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,725 shelling attacks on populated areas and our troops’ positions, including 55 using multiple launch rocket systems. “Over the past 24 hours, the Defense Forces’ aviation struck six areas where enemy personnel were concentrated and three drone control centers,” the morning report states.
The heaviest fighting took place in the Pokrovsk direction in Donetsk Oblast and in the Huliaipole direction in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
“In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders repelled 50 assault operations by the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, and toward the settlements of Novyi Donbas, Bilytske, Kucheriiv Yar, Shevchenko, Serhiivka, Myrne, Novopavlivka, Novopidhorodne, and Dorozhne.
In the Huliaipole sector, the occupiers carried out 34 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Dobropillia, Olenokostiantynivka, Zaliznychne, and toward Vozdvyzhivka, Kosivtseve, Tsvitkove, Verkhnia Tersa, Huliaipil, and Charivne,” the report states.
The situation was also tense in several sectors in the Donetsk region.
“In the Lyman sector, the enemy attempted 18 times to breach our defenses in the areas of the settlements of Novoselivka, Ridkodub, and toward Drobysheve, Olgivka, Dibrova, Lyman, and Ozerny.
In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy launched 14 assaults in the areas of Riznykivka, Zakytne, and Lipivka, as well as toward the settlements of Rai-Oleksandrivka and Kryva Luka.
“In the Kostiantynivka sector, the occupiers carried out 12 attacks near the settlements of Ivanopil, Pleshchiivka, Illinivka, Kostiantynivka, and Rusyn Yar,” the Ukrainian military noted.
Fighting also continued in the Northern Slobozhansky, Kursky, Southern Slobozhansky, Kupyansky, Kramatorsky, Oleksandrivsky, and Orikhivsky sectors, according to the General Staff.
