In the village of Kozacha Lopan in the Kharkiv district, a 50-year-old man was killed when he stepped on an unknown explosive device.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service of the Kharkiv region.

Law enforcement officials are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

Meanwhile, the State Emergency Service noted that over the past 24 hours, pyrotechnic units have seized and neutralized 55 explosive devices.

Kozacha Lopan is located approximately 2 km from the border with Russia. After the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022, the village was under occupation, but in September of that year, it was liberated by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Earlier in the Sumy region, a 17-year-old boy was injured in an explosion. The incident occurred near a border village in the Khutir-Mykhailivska community, where he rode his motorcycle over an explosive device.

Russia is responsiblefor the mines in the Black Sea, according to the Romanian Ministry of Defense.

As a reminder, a civilian vessel struck a Russian mine in the Black Sea.

Additionally, dozens of partner countries have joined Ukraine’s humanitarian demining coalition.
