Heavy losses for Russian forces during attempted breakthrough in Kharkiv region
At Sotnytsky Kozachok, Russian forces tried to expand the front but suffered significant losses—over 50 killed and around 100 wounded. The frontline remained stable, according to Oleg Synehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
“The enemy claimed it would expand the frontline, and it attempted to do so at Sotnytsky Kozachok. I will say this first: the frontline there is stable, and the enemy is being destroyed in that area. Over several days of active fighting, more than 50 Russian soldiers have been killed, and about 100 wounded,” Synehubov reported.
He added that similar attempts at breakthroughs could occur in other areas. “The enemy will try in other directions or territories, testing our troops’ positions to choose its next priority and attempt to expand the zone of offensive actions,” he said.
Synehubov also noted increased tension on the Izyum direction, particularly around the settlement of Borova, where Russian forces continue to probe Ukrainian defensive positions.
