In the Sumy region, a Russian drone struck the home of a family with many children
Russian troops carried out yet another terrorist attack against the civilian population of the Sumy region, targeting a private home belonging to a family with many children.
As a result of the hostile attack, three people were killed, including a child, and three other family members sustained injuries of varying severity.
The tragedy occurred on June 22, 2026, at approximately 4:50 a.m. in the Zno-Novgorod community of the Shostka District.
The occupiers deliberately targeted a residential building with a strike drone while people were peacefully sleeping inside. The attack caused significant damage to the home and sparked a fire.
The victims of this cynical attack were a 13-year-old boy, his 36-year-old father, and his 73-year-old grandmother, who died at the scene from their injuries.
Medical personnel and rescue workers who arrived at the scene provided emergency care to the other victims.
The 31-year-old mother of the deceased teenager, his 10-year-old brother, and his 13-year-old sister were injured and have been hospitalized.
Law enforcement agencies immediately began documenting yet another crime against humanity committed by the Russian army.
Prosecutors, in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, are documenting the aftermath of the attack to gather evidence for international courts. Law enforcement officers are interviewing witnesses and clearing the debris caused by the strike.
