Ukrainian intelligence special forces thwart Russian offensive on the Zaporizhzhia front

Special units of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR) of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence have conducted a series of offensive operations on the Zaporizhzhia front, particularly in the area of Stepnohirsk.

According to intelligence reports, the “Artan” special unit, together with other units of the HUR Department of Active Measures and the Ukrainian Defence Forces, carried out a complex operation.

The Ukrainian military achieved several key outcomes:

  • Regained control over important positions;
  • Improved the tactical situation along the frontline;
  • Eliminated enemy forward assault groups.

As a result of the special operation, Russian troop concentrations and equipment were struck, dozens of Russian soldiers were neutralised, and fire control was established over key enemy logistics routes.

The commander of the “Artan” unit, Viktor Torkotuk (callsign “Titan”), emphasised that the operation was conducted in close coordination with other defence forces.

“These actions have allowed us to establish a stable bridgehead for the further clearing of the settlement and the complete removal of the enemy,” he stated.

One of the primary objectives remains preventing the enemy from breaking through to the outskirts of Zaporizhzhia.

The HUR added that offensive actions near Stepnohirsk are ongoing, with assault groups operating in support of artillery, heavy strike drones, and other firepower assets.
