The highest number of attacks was recorded in the Pokrovsk direction — General Staff
Since the start of the day on September 24, there have been 185 combat engagements along the front lines. Russian forces carried out the most attacks in the Pokrovsk direction—there, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 27 assaults, and two more battles were still ongoing as of 10:00 p.m.
Russian troops continue to attack Ukrainian positions on several fronts. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of September 24, there have been 185 combat engagements since the start of the day. The Russian military also carried out one missile strike and 43 airstrikes. Russian troops dropped 173 guided aerial bombs, deployed 4,118 kamikaze drones, and carried out 1,869 shelling attacks on populated areas and Ukrainian military positions.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian forces repelled five attacks. The Russians attempted to advance in the areas of Mala Slobidka, Bila Bereza, Korenka, Rivne, and Kindrativka.
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the occupiers launched five assaults on Defense Forces positions near Lyman, Malaya Vovcha, and Ternova. As of 10:00 p.m., one combat engagement was still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled four assaults. Fighting took place near Podoly, Kivsharivka, and Novoosynove. Two other combat engagements were still ongoing.
In the Lyman sector, the Defense Forces halted four attempts by Russian troops to advance. The attacks took place in the areas of Drobysheve, Lyman, Nadiya, and Shyikivka. Another battle was still ongoing.
In the Sloviansk sector, Russian troops launched one attack near Piskunivka. Ukrainian forces repelled it.
Separately, the General Staff reported active combat operations in the Kostiantynivka sector. There, Ukrainian forces repelled 17 assaults in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Novoselivka, Illinivka, Osykove, Torske, Mykolaipillia, and Novopavlivka. Another combat engagement was ongoing.
The Pokrovsk sector saw the highest number of attacks over the past 24 hours. Defense forces repelled 27 assaults by Russian troops.
The occupiers attempted to advance near Kuchero-Yar, Sofiivka, Rodynske, Dorozhne, Novyi Donbas, Svitle, Dobropillia, Vasylivka, Serhiivka, Molodetske, and Novopavlivka. Two more attacks were still ongoing at the time of this report. According to preliminary data from the General Staff, 37 Russian soldiers were killed and another 14 were wounded in this sector over the past 24 hours.
Ukrainian forces also destroyed three vehicles, two artillery systems, nine pieces of specialized equipment, an ammunition depot, and 51 Russian military shelters. Two additional vehicles and one artillery system were damaged. In addition, Ukrainian forces struck two drone command posts and 119 enemy shelters. According to the General Staff, 235 Russian drones of various types were also destroyed or neutralized in the Pokrovsk sector.
In the Huliaipole sector, Russian troops attempted to storm the positions of the Defense Forces five times. The attacks took place in the areas of Vozdvizhivka, Rivne, and Charivne. Another battle was still ongoing as of 10:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, in the Kramatorsk, Oleksandrivka, Orikhiv, and Dnipro sectors, Russian troops did not carry out any offensive operations over the past 24 hours. According to the General Staff, there were no significant changes in the situation in other sectors.
On the evening of September 21 and during the night of September 22, 2026, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck two key facilities in Russia’s oil refining industry—the “Bashneft-UNPZ” in Bashkortostan and the Kuibyshev Refinery in the Samara Region. Fires were reported at both facilities.
On the night of September 23, the Russian regions of Bashkortostan and the Samara Oblast came under attack by drones. Fires have been reported near the oil refinery in Ufa and on the grounds of the Kuibyshev Oil Refinery in Samara.
