The heaviest fighting is taking place in the Sloviansk area
Over the past 24 hours, 188 combat engagements took place on the front lines between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops. The occupiers were most active in the Sloviansk sector, where Ukrainian forces repelled 24 attacks; overall, the enemy launched thousands of strikes using drones, aircraft, and artillery.
Throughout July 21, Russian troops continued to attack Ukrainian positions. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 188 combat engagements took place across the entire front line since the start of the day.
In addition to ground assaults, the enemy actively employed aircraft, missiles, kamikaze drones, and artillery. “In total, 188 combat engagements have taken place since the start of this day. The aggressor launched one missile strike, fired two missiles, carried out 65 airstrikes using 192 guided aerial bombs, deployed 6,483 kamikaze drones for strikes, and carried out 2,334 shelling attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
The heaviest fighting took place in the Sloviansk sector
Russian troops carried out the most attacks on the Sloviansk sector that day. There, Ukrainian defenders repelled 24 enemy attempts to advance. Fighting took place near Zakitne, Kryva Luka, and Riznykivka, as well as in the direction of Mykolaivka, Malynivka, Orikhovatka, and Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, the occupiers carried out 23 attacks. They attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses in the areas of Udachne, Rodynske, and Hryshyne, as well as in the direction of Bilytske, Svitle, Novyi Donbas, Shevchenko, Myrne, and Serhiivka. At the time of this report, one battle was still ongoing.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 22 assaults near Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka, Dovha Balka, Vilne, Novopavlivka, and Kuchero Yar.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 12 attacks by the Russian army. Fighting took place near Novoselivka and in the direction of Shyikivka, Lyman, Stavky, and Ozerny. As of the evening, six engagements were still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the occupiers made six attempts to break through the defenses in the areas of Chasovyi Yar, Minkivka, Markove, and in the direction of Izhevka.
The situation in other sectors
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Russian troops carried out four assaults. In addition, they carried out three airstrikes using four guided bombs and fired on Ukrainian positions and populated areas 40 times, including two attacks using multiple-launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhansky sector, the enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian units eight times in the direction of Hoptivka, Kozacha Lopana, Grafske, and Artilne. Two battles were still ongoing at the time this report was published.
In the Kupiansk sector, no enemy offensive actions were recorded over the past 24 hours.
In the Huliaipole sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 11 attacks in the direction of Vozdvizhivka, Huliaipole, Kosivtseve, and Verkhnia Tersa. One battle was still ongoing.
In the Orikhiv, Prydniprovsk, and Oleksandrivsk sectors, Russian forces did not conduct any offensive operations.
Enemy Casualties
In the Pokrovsk direction, according to preliminary estimates by the General Staff, Ukrainian forces eliminated 25 Russian occupiers and wounded eight more. The Defense Forces also destroyed one tank, four vehicles, and six pieces of specialized equipment belonging to the enemy.
In addition, four more vehicles, two drone control centers, and 22 shelters for Russian troops were damaged. Separately, Ukrainian defenders destroyed or neutralized 148 drones of various types.
The General Staff noted that no significant changes in the operational situation were recorded over the past 24 hours in other sectors of the front. At the same time, Ukrainian forces continue to repel Russian assaults and inflict losses on the enemy along the entire line of contact. In Zaporizhzhia, a gas station caught fire following a drone strike.
A Russian strike destroyed a UNICEF warehouse that stored humanitarian aid for Ukrainian children and families affected by the war. According to preliminary data, more than 106,000 units of humanitarian supplies with a total value of nearly $3.9 million were lost.
Seven people have been injured in the attack on Zaporizhzhia, including a child.
Russia damaged one of Zaporizhzhia’s oldest buildings. The number of casualties in Zaporizhzhia has risen following the Russian strike. According to the latest reports, five people were injured, including a 10-year-old child.
