The occupier was unable to reach the position and began complaining to the commander
A Russian soldier from the 7th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade was unable to reach his position in the Sloviansk sector and threw a tantrum at his commander. He claimed that he hadn’t eaten anything for three days, had blisters on his feet, and had nearly lost consciousness. An intercept of his conversation on September 15 was made public by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
The Russian occupier complained to his commander about his condition after a failed attempt to reach his position. According to him, he had severely chafed his legs, hadn’t eaten for three days, and was beginning to lose strength due to hunger. The soldier also said that while on the move, he tried to find a place where he could rest and get in touch. However, he said there was no signal at the right spot, and he was desperate for water. “Fuck it, I’ve already rubbed my feet raw, for fuck’s sake! My vision is going dark, I’m barely conscious—I haven’t eaten in three fucking days! Are you guys making fun of me?” the occupier complained emotionally.
He explained that he had walked to a certain spot, sat down there, but couldn’t get in touch with command. “I went out there, sat down, f…k—and there’s no… no signal at all, and I’m thirsty as hell, f…k! So I just stood right here, f…k,” the Russian said.
However, his commander was in no hurry to sympathize with his subordinate. On the contrary, he stated that the soldier was to blame for getting lost and failing to establish contact. “In that area you were walking through, there’s, f***, 100% signal! You’re not the first one to go that way! Damn it, you’ve already walked, fuck, 15 kilometers, fuck, in a circle, damn it,” the commander replied.
According to him, the radio signal in that area was supposedly working fine. So the commander blamed the soldier for failing to use it himself. “And it turns out there is a connection! And it’s a f***ing great connection—but the fact that you screwed yourself over… well, sorry,” he said.
After that, the commander effectively ordered his subordinate to resume the mission. Thus, complaints of hunger, thirst, leg pain, and feeling unwell did not prompt him to call off the operation. According to the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), this involves a soldier from the 7th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian occupation forces, which is operating in the Sloviansk sector. Intelligence sources note that such conversations demonstrate the Russian command’s attitude toward its own soldiers. An occupier who effectively reports physical exhaustion still receives an order to continue moving toward the position.
The GUR also reminded Russian soldiers who find themselves in a similar situation of the option to surrender. The intelligence agency urges Russian servicemen not to risk their lives for the sake of their commanders’ orders and to take advantage of the “I Want to Live” initiative. Through a special Telegram bot, Russian servicemen can express their desire to surrender and receive further instructions.
