Consequences of the night attack on Odesa region released
As of the morning of December 12, about 90,000 residents of Odesa region were left without electricity due to a nighttime attack by Russian drones on energy infrastructure.
According to Odesa Regional Military Administration Head Oleh Kiper, there were also disruptions in water supply and difficulties with transportation. The Ukrainian government is taking measures to optimize electricity consumption to allocate additional resources for restoration.
Specialists are already working on recovery, assessing damage and possibilities for reconnection. In Odesa city, 161 “resilience points” are operating, and in the region, there are 356 such points where rescuers provide assistance to affected residents. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and DTEK confirmed that one of the targeted objects was a substation, the 20th in the region to be hit.
The situation remains tense, as Russian forces launched 80 drones overnight, 64 of which were destroyed. They targeted eight locations, causing direct hits, damage to administrative buildings, and fires.
In addition, drones attacked Dnipropetrovsk region, causing deaths and injuries.
