Ukraine, Russia, and U.S. talks rescheduled for February 4–5

The next round of trilateral talks involving Ukraine, Russia, and the United States is now scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi on February 4 and 5, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on February 1.

So far, official comments from Russian and U.S. representatives have not been made.

A TASS source claimed that the February 4–5 dates were agreed “by mutual consent” and set for midweek.

Previously, it was expected that the delegations would meet on February 1 in Abu Dhabi, as stated by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov on January 28. He noted that the talks were “scheduled for February 1”, while emphasizing that the date was tentative.

On January 30, Zelensky allowed for a change in schedule or even location due to escalating tensions between the U.S. and Iran.

The first round of trilateral contacts took place in Abu Dhabi on January 23–24 in a closed session. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that during that meeting, the delegations of Ukraine and Russia communicated directly.

Zelensky has announced who will attend the talks with Russia in Abu Dhabi.

Putin sent his special envoy to the U.S. for negotiations.
