During a nighttime attack, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 123 enemy aircraft
On the night of July 26–27, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine, deploying 147 drones of various types. Air defense forces neutralized 123 enemy targets, but some strike drones were also confirmed to have hit their targets.
According to military reports, starting at 6:00 p.m. on July 26, the enemy launched Shahed-type attack UAVs, including jet-powered ones, as well as “Gerbera” and “Italmas” drones and “Parody” decoy drones. The launches were carried out from the areas of Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Orel, the temporarily occupied Donetsk, and Gvardeyskoye in occupied Crimea.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces deployed aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups to repel the air attack.
As of 8:00 a.m., according to preliminary data, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or neutralized 123 enemy drones in the north, south, and east of the country.
At the same time, 21 strike drones were confirmed to have struck 10 locations. In addition, debris from downed drones was found at seven other locations.
The Air Force emphasized that the air attack is ongoing, as enemy drones remain in Ukrainian airspace. Citizens are urged not to ignore air raid sirens and to follow safety guidelines.
