Russian troops in the Kupiansk sector continue to employ infiltration tactics, penetrating deep into Ukrainian positions in small groups and hiding for extended periods in ruined buildings. Lieutenant Vadym Ponka, an officer with the communications unit of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Roman the Great, reported this on Army TV.
According to him, the occupiers typically move in groups of one or two soldiers, after which they hide in shelters, basements, or the ruins of buildings, from where they observe the actions of Ukrainian forces.
Ponka noted that such groups can remain in one place for several weeks, relaying information about the situation—including the flight paths of Ukrainian drones—to their command.
According to the officer, from time to time, Russian occupiers receive necessary supplies—water, food, and power banks for recharging radios—via FPV drones.
At the same time, the Ukrainian military is conducting search-and-strike operations to detect and destroy such groups, the officer added.
