Near Myrnohrad, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated occupiers hiding at a farm

A reconnaissance of Russian occupiers’ positions conducted by Ukrainian troops near Myrnohrad led to a successful operation during which a group of Russians hiding at a farm was eliminated.

This was reported by the press service of the 7th Air Assault Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Overall, the situation in this region remains difficult, as Russian forces have been trying to find weak points in the city’s defence over the past six months.

The occupiers have abandoned traditional assault tactics and instead focused on infiltration and the accumulation of forces, attempting to plan sabotage operations in the rear of Ukrainian troops.

It is known that Russian forces have concentrated more than ten units on the approaches to Myrnohrad, particularly in the southern and north-eastern outskirts.

According to the military, defensive actions are ongoing due to the threat of further enemy advancement. During one of the operations, Ukrainian fighters discovered shelters used by Russian troops, where the occupiers had been using cesspits to conceal their presence. The elimination of this group is important for stabilising the situation in the region.

Along the front line on 8 January, 161 combat engagements were recorded, including active attacks in ten directions, with the most significant ones on the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole axes. In this regard, Ukrainian forces are carrying out measures to expand logistical corridors in order to strengthen supply capabilities and support the defence.
