Near Pokrovsk, Russian forces are striking logistics and applying pressure from the flanks
The Russian army has intensified pressure in the Pokrovsk sector. Occupying forces are attempting to destroy Ukrainian logistics, complicate the evacuation of the wounded, and outflank the city. This was stated on the national “United News” telethon by Serhii, call sign “Hera,” commander of a battalion from the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslav Brigade.
The Pokrovsk direction remains one of the hottest areas on the front line. According to Ukraine’s General Staff, 26 assaults were recorded there in just one day in the areas of Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Filliia, and towards Bilytske, Hryshyne and Novopidhorodne.
Speaking on air, the battalion commander said Russian units are actively targeting Ukrainian logistics. According to him, the enemy unit known as “Rubikon” is particularly active.
“They have very powerful UAV forces here, for example ‘Rubikon’. There is a designated area where they constantly conduct reconnaissance and strike targets. The situation is very difficult, but we do not leave anyone behind and we try to evacuate everyone,” the officer said.
He explained that Russian forces are trying to hit supply routes in order to disrupt the delivery of ammunition and provisions, as well as the evacuation of wounded soldiers. Recently, Ukrainian troops had to attempt twice to evacuate wounded personnel using a ground robotic system. The first attempt was thwarted by enemy drone attacks. Russian forces are actively using drones for reconnaissance and strikes. They constantly hover in the air and attempt to hit any target — equipment, vehicles, or even robotic platforms.
Attempts to outflank the city
In addition to strikes on logistics, Russian troops are pressing on the flanks of the defence of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. The main efforts are coming from the direction of Rodynske and towards the village of Hryshyne.
According to the battalion commander, the enemy is trying to create difficult defensive conditions and attack from the sides.
“We will not let the enemy through, we will not allow them to take our land, and we will destroy them as much as possible. This is not the first time the enemy has tried to bypass the 25th Brigade and attack from the right or left flank, creating unfavourable conditions for us,” Hera stressed.
He уточнив that in the Rodynske direction the enemy is being held back by the 1st Corps of the National Guard, while near Hryshyne adjacent Defence Forces brigades are operating.
Heavy losses, but assaults continue
Ukrainian forces destroy enemy infantry and equipment every day. According to the battalion commander, Russian losses in this sector are significant.
“Equipment, artillery pieces, mortars, UAV posts that entered Pokrovsk. Their losses are heavy, but they have the resources to replace all of it — both personnel and equipment. Our battalion alone can eliminate up to 700 enemy servicemen over a couple of months,” he said.
Despite this, Russian forces constantly bring in reserves and rotate units, allowing them to maintain a high intensity of assaults.
What this means for the front
The Pokrovsk direction remains strategically important for both sides. Russian forces are trying to gradually exhaust Ukrainian defences by disrupting supply lines and applying pressure from multiple directions. Ukrainian troops, in turn, are holding their positions and inflicting significant losses on the enemy. The situation remains difficult but under control. According to the officer of the 25th Brigade, the key task is to prevent a breakthrough and stop the enemy from advancing.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine also carried out strikes on a Russian missile unit and supply depots.
In addition, Ukraine’s Defence Forces struck the Druzhba oil pipeline pumping station in Tatarstan, part of the “Druzhba” pipeline system.
