After his trip to Zaporizhzhia, Pistorius called on Germany to learn from the Ukrainian Armed Forces
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated that the German military should learn from Ukraine’s combat experience. Specifically, this refers to the use of drones and the development of electronic warfare systems. According to Pistorius, the experience of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is valuable for modernizing the defense capabilities of partner countries.
Pistorius noted that during a recent visit to the Zaporizhzhia region, he had the opportunity to observe the Ukrainian military’s work with unmanned systems.
“We are focusing on this,” noted the head of the German Ministry of Defense, commenting on the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ experience in using drones.
Pistorius also emphasized the need for further development of cooperation between Germany and Ukraine in the defense-industrial sector. According to him, Western funding will help significantly increase the production in Ukraine of various types of weapons and systems with the appropriate range and combat capabilities.
It should be noted that Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, together with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, inspected drone units between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia.
Boris Pistorius became one of the few foreign defense ministers to personally visit Ukrainian troops so close to the front lines.
