Poland will finance the acquisition of US weapons for Ukraine through the PURL programme

Warsaw plans to provide substantial financial assistance to Kyiv for the purchase of American-made military equipment.

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski announced that the country intends to transfer $100 million from the state budget to Ukraine.

The funds will be channelled through the special PURL programme, which allows for the purchase of US-made weapons.

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski announced this to journalists in Brussels on 20 November, just before the start of the European Union’s Foreign Affairs Council meeting.

Sikorski emphasized that the necessary funds have already been allocated in the budget of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and will be used exclusively for military aid to Ukraine.

He added that Warsaw has a clear timeline for the initiative, with the full transfer of the $100 million planned by the end of the year.
