Damaged reconnaissance ship "Ivan Khurs" spotted in Sevastopol Bay
In temporarily occupied Sevastopol, the Russian reconnaissance vessel Ivan Khurs has been spotted with visible signs of serious damage.
According to the monitoring Telegram channel Crimean Wind, the ship was recently seen moored at a pier in Holland Bay.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine reportedly struck the vessel in the spring of 2024 during one of their operations in the Black Sea. Newly published photographs taken in Crimea appear to confirm the vessel’s difficult technical condition within Russia’s Black Sea Fleet.
The released images clearly show that a significant portion of the captain’s bridge and the mast with radio-electronic equipment antennas have been destroyed.

These critically important structural elements are currently covered with scaffolding as repair work is carried out.
In addition to damage to the superstructure, the side deck of the reconnaissance ship is concealed with special camouflage netting, apparently in an attempt to hide the scale of the destruction.

Experts also noted the absence of standard equipment at the stern of the vessel.
The ship’s presence in Holland Bay suggests its limited combat capability and inability to perform its designated tasks. Restoring a specialised vessel such as Ivan Khurs requires complex technologies and considerable time.
