The Ukrainian Air Force shot down 76 enemy drones during a nighttime attack

On the night of April 5, Russian occupation forces launched a massive attack on Ukrainian territory, deploying 93 strike drones of various types.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of air defense units, most of the enemy air targets were destroyed or neutralized using electronic warfare (EW) systems.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the attack began on the evening of April 4 and continued until the morning of the following day.

The enemy launched Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other drones from six different directions, including Bryansk, Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and occupied Crimea.

About 60 of the total number of launched vehicles were Shahed-type kamikaze drones.

The air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile forces, mobile fire groups, aviation, as well as electronic warfare and unmanned systems units of the Defense Forces.

As of 8:00 a.m., the downing of 76 enemy drones in the north, south, and east of the country has been confirmed.

Despite the high effectiveness of the air defense, 17 strike drones were recorded hitting 10 locations, and debris from the downed drones fell at three additional points, causing damage.

Military officials emphasize that the enemy is constantly changing tactics, combining different types of drones to wear down the Ukrainian defense system.

The use of cheaper models, such as the “Gerbera” and “Italmas,” is intended to divert attention from the main strike units and overload mobile groups.

As a reminder, Russia is attacking Kharkiv with drones, and fires and destruction are being reported across the city.

Russian drones have also again attacked Naftogaz facilities in the Poltava region.
