Ukrainian air defence neutralised 157 enemy drones overnight

On the night of 2 February, Russia carried out a combined air attack on Ukraine, deploying an Iskander-M ballistic missile and launching a mass wave of attack drones.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the missile was launched from the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.

At the same time, the enemy launched 171 drones of various types, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other modifications. An estimated around 100 of them were Shahed-type drones.

UAV launches were recorded from several directions — Kursk, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo, as well as from temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk region.

The air attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare forces, and unmanned systems units.

A key role was played by mobile fire groups, which engaged targets across multiple regions and reinforced air defence coverage along drone flight routes.

Air defence operations were conducted simultaneously in the north, south, and east of the country, where the main attack trajectories were observed.

As of 09:00, it was confirmed that 157 enemy UAVs had been shot down or suppressed by air defence.

These included Shahed and Gerbera drones, as well as UAVs of other types that attempted to break through to targets and overwhelm air defences by sheer numbers.

At the same time, one ballistic missile and 12 attack drones reportedly reached their targets. Impacts were recorded at eight locations, with details on the consequences still being clarified.

Earlier, Russian occupiers attacked border areas of the Chernihiv region.
