Ukraine's air defense forces shot down 95 of 101 Russian drones during a nighttime attack
Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down or neutralized 95 of the 101 enemy attack drones that Russia used to attack Ukraine on the night of June 24.
Starting at 6:00 p.m. on June 23, Russian forces launched a combined attack using 101 attack UAVs, including Shaheds (including jet-powered variants), “Gerbera,” “Italmas,” and “Parody” decoy drones.
The launches were carried out from Russian territory (Orel, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk), as well as from the temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk Oblast and Crimea.
The air attack was repelled by:
- air defense
- anti-aircraft missile forces
- electronic warfare and unmanned systems units
- mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces
As of 8:30 a.m. on June 24, 95 drones had been neutralized (shot down or jammed), 6 UAVs struck 5 locations, and debris fell at 6 other locations
The Air Force also noted that enemy drones may still be present in the airspace, and efforts to repel the attack are ongoing.
Thus, Ukrainian air defense has once again demonstrated high effectiveness during a massive drone attack by Russia.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram.
The Ukrainian Navy, in coordination with the Main Intelligence Directorate, successfully destroyed three Russian unmanned surface vessels (USVs) that posed a threat to the Ukrainian coastline.
Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian defenders have killed 1,260 Russian soldiers, according to the General Staff. Data on enemy equipment losses as of June 24 has also been updated.
Ukrainian drones continue to strike at the rear logistics of Russian troops in areas near occupied Crimea. Over the past five days, 193 trucks used to supply the Russian army have been put out of commission.
