On the night of July 16, Ukraine’s air defense forces destroyed three Russian “Iskander-M”/S-400 ballistic missiles and shot down 129 enemy drones. The defenders of the skies continue to repel massive enemy air attacks.

According to military reports, starting at 6:00 p.m. on July 15, the enemy launched eight Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles from the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation, four Kh-22/32 cruise missiles from the Black Sea, one X-31P anti-radar missile, five “Banderole”-type loitering munitions, and 146 Shahed-type strike UAVs (including jet-powered ones), Gerbera, Italmas, and “Parody”-type decoy drones from the following directions: Kursk, Orel, Millerovo in the Russian Federation, the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk, and Gvardeyskoye (Crimea).

The air attack was repelled by the Ukrainian Air Force, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 9:00 a.m. on July 16, air defense forces shot down or neutralized three Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles and 129 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerber, Italmas, and other types in the north, south, center, and east of the country.

Five Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles, an X-31P anti-radar missile, and 16 strike UAVs at 15 locations, as well as the fall of downed debris at 7 locations. The X-22/32 cruise missiles did not reach their targets.

The attack is ongoing, with several enemy UAVs in the airspace.

The Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.

As a reminder, Zelenskyy called on allies to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense in light of Russia’s new attacks.

As a result of the Russian attack on Odesa on the night of July 13, the premises of a motor transport company, private homes, and a local health resort were damaged. A fire broke out among buses at the site of the strike.

Additionally, a fire broke out in a residential building following a Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia on July 13. The fire spread to apartments on the second through fourth floors; rescue workers are currently dealing with the aftermath of the shelling.
