Air defense forces destroyed 233 of the 258 drones and missiles launched by Russia
On the night of August 27, Russia attacked Ukraine with two “Onyx” missiles, “Iskander-M”/KN-23 ballistic missiles, and 258 attack UAVs of various types. Air defense forces destroyed or intercepted 233 aerial targets, including seven ballistic missiles and 225 drones; strikes were recorded at 15 locations.
The main targets of the attack were the Odesa, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 9:00 a.m., air defense forces had shot down or neutralized an Onyx anti-ship missile, 7 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, 3 S8000 “Banderole,” as well as 222 enemy UAVs of the Shahed and Gerber types and other types of drones in the south, north, east, and center of the country.
Enemy air strikes were recorded at 15 locations, and debris from downed missiles was found at 11 locations. In addition, some enemy munitions failed to reach their targets; details regarding these are being clarified.
