Air defense forces intercepted four ballistic missiles and 212 drones
Air defense forces managed to neutralize four Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles and 212 strike and reconnaissance drones.
Combat operations in Ukrainian airspace are currently ongoing, as isolated enemy drones are still being detected in some regions.
According to official data from the Ukrainian Air Force, starting at 6:00 p.m. on June 17, the Russian army launched seven ballistic missiles and 239 unmanned aerial vehicles at Ukraine.
The enemy missiles were launched from the Voronezh, Bryansk, and Kursk regions of the Russian Federation.
At the same time, “Shahed”-type strike UAVs (including new jet-powered variants), as well as “Gerbera” drones, “Italmas,” and “Parody” decoys were launched from Kursk, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from the temporarily occupied Crimea and Donetsk.
Significant forces and resources of the Ukrainian Army were deployed to repel this large-scale air attack.
The attacks were repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare (EW) units, mobile fire groups, and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) units.
The main areas where air defense forces operated and shot down or suppressed enemy targets were the northern, southern, and eastern regions of our country.
