Selling Ukraine to Putin will have catastrophic consequences, says MEP
Latvian MEP Sandra Kalniete warned the United States against any steps that could be seen as concessions to Russia during possible negotiations in Moscow.
Kalniete set out her position in a post on Platform X, drawing attention to the danger of any ‘deals’ with the Kremlin.
She stressed that ‘selling’ Ukraine to Vladimir Putin would be a disaster not only for Europe but also for the United States itself.
The MEP reminded that the Russian leader is not seeking compromise, but rather the restoration of imperial influence. According to her, Putin is trying not only to destroy Ukrainian statehood, but also to divide Western allies, weakening America's role on the international stage.
‘Vitkoff and Kushner must remember that Moscow is waging war not only against Ukraine, but against the entire democratic world,’ Kalniete stressed.
