Propagandist Simonyan reported serious complications following surgery
Russian propagandist and RT Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan spoke about her difficult recovery from surgery, which she underwent on September 27.
According to her, her body has been weakened by recent chemotherapy, radiation, and hormone therapy, so her recovery is proving much more difficult than expected. She noted that complications arose during the surgery that deviated from the planned course of the procedure.
Simonyan asked her friends, colleagues, and acquaintances to temporarily refrain from contacting her about work-related matters—specifically regarding employment, new projects, and other proposals.
At the same time, she did not provide specific details regarding the nature of the complications or her current diagnosis. The day before, Simonyan posted a photo from her hospital room and asked her followers to pray for her recovery.
According to the propagandist, the need for surgery was identified during a PET/CT scan. She attributed the problems to the aftereffects of radiation therapy she had undergone previously.

In early August 2026, the gasoline situation in Russia deteriorated sharply once again. Following a series of Ukrainian attacks on oil refineries, many regions of the country once again faced fuel shortages, long lines at gas stations, and supply disruptions.
