Russia attacked the Kherson region; a child is among the victims

In the Kherson region, 32 people, including one child, were wounded over the past day as a result of Russian attacks. Russian troops used aircraft, attack drones, and artillery to strike populated areas in the region and the city of Kherson.

The following areas came under enemy fire: Beryslav, Bilozerka, Rakivka, Urozhayne, Ingulets, Novoraysk, Kucherske, Novovoznesenske, Charivne, Myrolyubivka, Stanislav, Khreshchenivka, Zolota Balka, Vysokopillia, Kostyrka, Dniprovske, Zelenivka, Kizomys, Kozatske, Milove, Mykhailivka, Tokarivka, Tomaryne, Tomyna Balka, Tyahynka, Komyshany, Osokorivka, Skhidne, Davydiv Brid, Mala Seidemynukha, Naddniprianske, Antonivka, Ingulivka, Prydniprovske, Zymivnyk, Sadove, Ulyanovka, and Kherson.

Russian forces targeted critical and social infrastructure, as well as residential neighborhoods.

As a result of the shelling, four high-rise buildings and five private homes were damaged.

Russian attacks also damaged a cell tower, agricultural facilities, and an administrative building.

Transportation was also affected: an ambulance, a bus, a minibus, and private cars were damaged.

In total, 32 people were injured as a result of the Russian aggression, including one child.

Yaroslav Shanko, head of the Kherson City Military Administration, reported that efforts are underway in Kherson to address the aftermath of Russian strikes on critical infrastructure.

“Thanks to the titanic efforts of specialists, most consumers in the city now have electricity,” Shanko noted.

At the same time, the Shumensky microdistrict and the Zhytloselyshche residential area remain partially without power. Emergency repair work is ongoing.

Due to the aftermath of the Russian attacks, resilience centers in Kherson have been switched to round-the-clock operation.

In addition, free water distribution points are operating in the Shumensky microdistrict and the Zhytloselyshche neighborhood from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This was reported by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, on Telegram.

On the night of and morning of August 7, Russian troops attacked five districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region more than 20 times. The enemy used artillery and drones; the shelling damaged civilian infrastructure and residential buildings.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops carried out 997 strikes on 56 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. Ten people were wounded as a result of enemy attacks on Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia district.

On the night of August 5, 2026, Russian shelling of the Kyiv region destroyed warehouses containing finished products belonging to JTI Ukraine, and goods belonging to distributors and retail partners of Imperial Brands Ukraine were also damaged. None of the employees of the affected companies were injured.

In Kyiv, Russian shelling damaged the logistics center of the “Ranok” publishing house.

Russia cynically referred to the massive attack on Ukraine as a “retaliatory strike.”
