Russia strikes industrial facility in Poltava region; fires reported at several locations
On the night of 20 January 2026, Russian forces carried out a strike on an industrial facility in the Poltava region.
The press centre of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) reported that the attack caused fires at several locations. Rescue teams quickly extinguished the flames.
DSNS units, specialised equipment, and two firefighting trains from Ukrzaliznytsia were involved in the firefighting efforts.




Meanwhile, during the night, a large boiler house in Dnipro was damaged in a Russian missile and drone attack, leaving hundreds of homes without heating.


It is worth noting that a previous Russian attack damaged 12 buildings in Zaporizhzhia.
Russia also targeted an energy facility in the Chernihiv region, causing power outages.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported the first assessments of the consequences of Russia’s widespread strikes on the regions. According to him, damage has been recorded in Kyiv and Kyiv region, Vinnytsia region, Dnipro region, Odesa region, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava region, Sumy region, and other areas.
