Russia launched an attack on Ukraine with 117 drones; air defense forces shot down 102 of them
On the night of June 12, Russian forces launched another massive attack on Ukraine, deploying 117 attack drones of various types. Air defense forces destroyed or intercepted most of the aerial targets, but some hits were recorded.
For the attack, Russia used Shahed-type attack drones, including jet-powered variants, as well as “Gerbera” and “Italmas” drones and “Parody” decoy drones.
The launches were carried out from the territory of the Russian Federation and the temporarily occupied Crimea. Specifically, the drones flew from the Orel, Kursk, and Millerovo regions, as well as from Chauda and Gvardeyskoye on the occupied peninsula.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces deployed aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned aerial vehicle forces, and mobile fire groups to repel the air attack.
As of 08:00, Ukrainian defenders had neutralized 102 enemy drones of various types.
Despite the effective work of the air defense forces, 14 strike drones were recorded as having hit seven locations.
In addition, debris from downed drones fell at eight different locations.
The Air Force emphasized that the air attack was still ongoing as of this morning, as individual enemy UAVs remained in Ukrainian airspace.
The military urged citizens not to ignore air raid sirens and to follow safety guidelines during drone attack threats.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops carried out 949 strikes on 44 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. As a result of the massive attacks, two people were killed and three others were wounded.
On the morning of June 12, Russian troops once again attacked Mykolaiv with Shahed-type strike drones. A man was injured in the attack and was hospitalized.
On the night of June 12, a Russian drone attacked an industrial facility in the Poltava district. One of the production workshops caught fire as a result of the strike.
In the Chernihiv region, more than 37,000 customers were left without power due to a Russian attack on an energy infrastructure facility that took place on Thursday, June 11. Residents of the city of Chernihiv, as well as settlements in the Chernihiv and Koryukivka districts, were affected by the power outage.
In the Kyiv region, an attack by Russian "Shahed"-type strike drones was recorded. A fire broke out as a result of the strike or falling debris from the drone.
