Russia attacked Ukraine with 123 drones; air defense forces shot down 108 drones
On the night of July 6–7, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine, deploying 123 strike drones of various types. Air defense forces shot down 108 enemy UAVs, but strikes were recorded at ten locations.
“On the night of July 7 (starting at 6:00 p.m. on July 6), the enemy launched an attack using 123 Shahed-type strike UAVs (including jet-powered ones), ‘Gerbera,’ “Italmas,” and “Parody”-type decoy drones from the following directions: Kursk, Orel, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Shatalovo, Millerovo—Russian Federation, Donetsk—TOT, and Chauda—TOT, Autonomous Republic of Crimea,” the statement reads.
As of 08:30, the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups had shot down or neutralized 108 Shahed-type drones, “Gerbera,” “Italmas,” and other types. Air defense operations continued in the north, south, east, and center of the country.
At the same time, 12 strike UAVs were recorded hitting ten locations, and debris was found in five areas.
“The attack is ongoing; there are several enemy UAVs in the airspace. Please follow safety guidelines,” the Ukrainian Air Force added.

Significant damage to civilian infrastructure was also reported.
Over the past 24 hours, on July 6, Russian troops carried out 1,163 strikes on 45 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. As a result of the massive attacks, three people were killed and another 28 were wounded.
In the Poltava district, rescue workers dealt with the aftermath of yet another Russian attack on an industrial facility. The strike caused several fires on the facility’s grounds, but they were quickly extinguished.

In addition, the death toll in Kyiv has risen following a massive Russian strike on the night of July 6. As of this morning, rescue workers had recovered one more body from the rubble in the Darnytskyi district, bringing the total number of victims to 19.
