Russia is preparing to step up hybrid attacks against the EU and NATO, according to the Center for Political and Strategic Studies

Russia may soon step up its information and hybrid attacks against the European Union and NATO. The aim of these actions is to undermine support for Ukraine among its partners.

This was reported by Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, on Telegram.

According to him, Russian leadership is convinced that there is currently a “window of opportunity” to pressure Western countries through information and provocative tools.

“In the near future, Russia will increase information and hybrid provocations against Europe,” Kovalenko noted.

He also stated that, according to his information, Sergei Naryshkin, director of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, has convinced Vladimir Putin of the possibility of influencing the EU and NATO to reduce their support for Ukraine.

At the same time, the Center for Political and Strategic Studies considers such plans to be ineffective.

“Another idea from the old guard that won’t work and only demonstrates the Russian Federation’s unpreparedness for growing technological threats in the absence of a desire to end the war. Because Russia right now is a sieve with a bunch of holes,” Kovalenko added.

As a reminder, NATO has recognized the Ukrainian army’s unique ability to quickly adapt to new conditions of war. The Alliance’s command stated that it wants to adopt this experience to accelerate the development and procurement of weapons.
