Moscow continues war against Ukraine to prevent strikes on Russia — Peskov
The Kremlin is attempting to justify the continuation of the protracted war against Ukraine by citing the need to defend its own territory from airstrikes.
Presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that the so-called special military operation is continuing precisely to stop strikes on regions of the Russian Federation.
This was Moscow’s response to the latest successful attacks on military and infrastructure targets in St. Petersburg.
Commenting to journalists on the situation surrounding the strikes on the Leningrad region, the spokesperson for the Russian dictator emphasized that the actions of the aggressor country’s military leadership will be coordinated and systematic.
The Russian authorities are forced to acknowledge the vulnerability of their deep rear infrastructure to Ukrainian weapons.
However, instead of seeking diplomatic solutions, the Kremlin is once again choosing the path of escalation and the continuation of hostilities.
The Kremlin representative’s direct remarks clearly demonstrate the absurdity of the official propaganda line, which completely contradicts the initial goals of the invasion.
Assessing recent events, Dmitry Peskov noted that the aggressor country’s responses “will be systematic in nature.” He also added directly: “The ‘special military operation’ is continuing precisely to prevent strikes on Russian regions.”
