Russia is conducting disinformation campaigns ahead of negotiations with the US — Zelensky
President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with the Ukrainian delegation after talks in the US on the peace plan. According to him, the Russians have launched new disinformation campaigns in view of the preparations for meetings between the Russian delegation and the American side.
Zelensky reported this on social media.
‘I have instructed our team to continue our highly constructive work with President Trump's team, as well as with our European partners. Ukrainian intelligence will share with our partners the information we have about Russia's true intentions and its attempts to use diplomatic efforts as a cover to weaken sanctions and block important collective European decisions,’ Zelensky wrote.
It should be noted that today, 2 November, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner are scheduled to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Prior to this, Vladimir Putin held a meeting at one of the Russian military command posts, where he appeared in military uniform and announced the ‘successes’ of the Russian occupation army. In particular, Russia claimed to have completely captured the city of Pokrovsk.
However, the Ukrainian Defence Forces refute this: Vladimir Polevoy, head of communications for the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told us that the northern part of Pokrovsk is under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Units of the 7th Corps, together with attached units, are conducting raids in the central part of the city. Logistical routes to Mirnograd remain open.
