Russia hit residential buildings in Ternopil with X-101 missiles

Russian troops struck a multi-storey residential building in Ternopil with X-101 cruise missiles, the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

According to military sources, the strikes were carried out by strategic bombers — six Tu-95MS from Olenya and four Tu-160MS from Engels and Ukrainka airfields. The missiles were launched from Russia’s Vologda and Astrakhan regions.

Law enforcement agencies are examining the debris to document the attack on civilians. The Air Force emphasized that it has repeatedly provided evidence to its partners: the X-101 missiles contain components made in the United States, China, Taiwan, Germany, the Netherlands, and other countries.

By 4 pm, fragments of one of the missiles that struck a nine-storey building had been recovered. It was an X-101, manufactured in the fourth quarter of 2025.

The Ukrainian Air Force emphasized that the tragedy could have been avoided if Russia had not been able to circumvent international sanctions.

On the night of 19 November, Russian troops carried out a coordinated strike on Ternopil, hitting a multi-storey residential building.
