A fire broke out at a power substation in Belgorod following a drone attack

A critical energy infrastructure facility—the "Yuzhnaya" electrical substation—was struck in the Russian city of Belgorod.

This was reported by local sources.

According to eyewitnesses, a massive fire broke out on the facility’s grounds, visible from various parts of the city. It is also noted that the incident was accompanied by powerful explosions.

Information regarding the possible causes of the damage and the impact on power supply is being clarified. Local authorities have not yet officially commented on the details of the incident.

In the Russian city of Tuapse in the Krasnodar Krai, explosions were heard on the night of April 16 amid a drone attack. The strikes may have hit the tanks of the Tuapse Oil Refinery, which is owned by Rosneft.

In the temporarily occupied Crimea, an oil depot in the village of Oktyabrskoye caught fire on the night of April 16 following a drone attack. There are also reports of a fire in the Bakhchisaray district near the “TES Company Oil and Gas Storage Facility.”
