In Kyiv, emergency medical personnel who had responded to a call to assist the victims were injured as a result of a Russian attack overnight.

This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.

A second strike occurred while the team was on the scene.

“On the night of April 16, during an air raid alert, an emergency medical team was providing assistance to the injured. At that moment, a second strike occurred. The medical staff and the driver sustained moderate injuries and were hospitalized at medical facilities in the capital,” the statement reads.

As a result of the attack, the ambulance was completely damaged and medical equipment was destroyed.

Photos of the aftermath of Russian shelling in Kyiv’s Obolon district were also released, showing fires and infrastructure damage caused by the strikes.

In Sumy, Russian troops struck a gas station. Due to the threat of a repeat attack, rescue workers temporarily suspended operations. As a result of the incident, one person suffered an acute stress reaction.
