Russia lost 1,520 troops in the war against Ukraine over the past day
The Russian army’s total combat losses since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine have reached approximately 1,506,900 service members.
Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders eliminated another 1,520 invaders.
According to the General Staff, as of September 13, 2026, the total losses of Russian forces since February 24, 2022, are as follows:
- personnel—approximately 1,506,900 (+1,520) individuals;
- tanks — 12,344 (+2);
- armored combat vehicles — 25,330 (+8);
- artillery systems — 49,678 (+77);
- multiple-launch rocket systems — 2,120 (+5);
- air defense systems — 1,635 (+2);
- aircraft — 442 (+0);
- helicopters — 356 (+0);
- ground-based robotic systems — 2,603 (+17);
- operational-tactical UAVs — 514,317 (+2,142);
- cruise missiles — 5,111 (+8);
- ships and boats — 35 (+0);
- submarines — 2 (+0);
- Vehicles and tanker trucks — 148,259 (+410);
- special equipment — 4,681 (+5).
Thus, over the past 24 hours, the Russian army has lost more than 1,500 servicemen, as well as dozens of pieces of equipment and weaponry.

Ukraine has effectively become a testing ground for modern weapons and military technologies. Going forward, these must be actively utilized to minimize casualties among personnel. This was stated at the Yalta European Strategy (YES) conference by Brigadier General Yevhen Lasyichuk of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, commander of the 7th Airborne Assault Corps.
Ukraine is preparing for several months of fierce fighting for the key cities of the Donetsk region—Sloviansk and Kramatorsk. The troops of the Russian Federation—the aggressor state—are less than 15 km from both cities.
