Russia attacked Konotop: a five-story building was damaged; a rescue operation is underway
On the night of May 20, Russian troops attacked Konotop in the Sumy region, striking a five-story residential building. People remain trapped under the rubble, and a rescue operation is underway at the site. According to local authorities, the city was hit by more than ten explosions as a result of the drone attack.
This was reported by Konotop Mayor Artem Semenikhin.
Three floors collapsed after a direct hit by an enemy “suicide drone” on the five-story building. According to Mayor Artem Semenikhin, people remain trapped under the rubble, and a rescue operation is currently underway there.
The shock wave also damaged the city hospital, shattering its windows. In addition, extensive damage to windows and doors has been reported in other residential buildings, apartments, and administrative buildings in Konotop.
It is currently known that there are many casualties in the city, but the exact number of injured is still being determined.
