Russia is preparing a new strike on the front: details
The city of Huliaipole in Zaporizhzhia region has effectively fallen into a “grey zone,” with active combat taking place directly in urban neighbourhoods.
This was reported by the spokesperson for the Southern Defence Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn.
According to him, in just one day in southern Ukraine, 50 combat engagements were recorded, most of them in the Huliaipole district.
“In Huliaipole itself, there were 21 combat engagements, with several more on the outskirts of the city and in nearby settlements: Varvarivka, Zelene, and the village of Zaliznychne,” Voloshyn noted.
He added that the enemy is attempting to push back Ukrainian forces using a “squeezing” tactic, but the occupiers are failing to establish a foothold. The Defence Forces are conducting search-and-strike operations, destroying enemy personnel and fighting for control of every piece of infrastructure.
Intelligence also reports that Russian forces are preparing to intensify operations in other parts of the front, particularly for assaults in the direction of Orikhiv. A dangerous concentration of enemy troops has been observed near Mali Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Bilohirya.
At the same time, the Russian army continues massive shelling of frontline settlements. In just the past 24 hours, more than 25 strikes were recorded on Orikhiv, Komyshuvakha, and Verkhniy Tersa, using aircraft, artillery, and strike drones.
The battle for Pokrovsk continues: Ukrainian forces hold the northern part of the city.
It should be noted that Myrnohrad is encircled, and Pokrovsk is nearly lost — NATO’s assessment of the situation in Donetsk region.
Pokrovsk has become a critically important direction in Ukraine’s defence.
