Russia wants to convince the world that its army is invincible

Yesterday’s Russian strikes were carefully planned to demonstrate to the White House that Moscow is supposedly invincible. Ukraine is responding: its cities, which have become true fortresses, continue to hold the line. Experts say that negotiations have so far failed to provide a clear picture of who is trying to influence the situation and how, Sky News reports.

Military analyst Professor Michael Clarke believes that Russia’s latest attacks on the Donbas were an attempt to convince the United States of the inevitability of Moscow’s victory. “Russia is trying to present victory in the Donbas as inevitable. As if Ukraine must decide for itself whether to give up territory now or lose it later at the cost of even greater human life,” Clarke explained.

According to him, Ukraine is resisting. “They cannot take our fortress cities, which for four years have remained a serious obstacle for the Russian army,” the analyst stressed. He noted that Ukrainian society, despite suffering and the cold, is firmly determined not to make territorial concessions. “I do not know where these negotiations will lead, but for now we should not give in to pessimism,” Clarke added.

There is little information about the format of the meetings. “We do not know whether they are meeting in the same room. My guess is that the Americans may be moving from room to room to discuss details,” the analyst said.

Despite Russia’s attempts to project strength, experts note that Ukraine continues to control key positions and is preparing to defend its cities. The situation remains tense, and the results of the negotiations will only become clear after several days.
