Russia plans to put the “Oreshnik” missile on combat duty by the end of the year
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin spoke again about Russia’s medium-range missile “Oreshnik”, stating that it is planned to be placed on combat duty by the end of the year. He also recalled the missile’s first use in November last year, when it struck Dnipro, according to Russian media.
Putin said that units of the Russian military demonstrate a “high level of training” and the ability to carry out complex tasks, as confirmed by regular exercises. He added that the experience of the “special military operation” is also shared with foreign allies and partners.
“The high level of training of units and formations, their ability to solve the most difficult tasks is confirmed during regularly conducted exercises, including with the participation of our foreign allies and partners, to whom we pass on the experience gained during the special military operation,” Putin was quoted as saying by a Russian outlet.
Despite the Kremlin’s loud statements, information about the actual combat readiness and capabilities of the “Oreshnik” missile is cautiously confirmed by independent sources. Experts note that Russian media often exaggerate the successes of new weapons for domestic propaganda and to demonstrate power to allies.
