In July, Russia used KABs against Ukraine a record number of times

In July 2026, the Russian military deployed 8,385 guided aerial bombs (GABs) equipped with universal planning and correction modules (UPCMs) against Ukraine. This is the highest figure since the start of the full-scale war.

According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, the number of aerial bombs used increased by 1.4% compared to June. Last month, the Russian Air Force used 8,266 GABs.

The Ministry of Defense noted that the current average rate of use for this type of weapon is approximately 270 aerial bombs per day.

The ministry emphasized that July’s figure set a record for the entire period of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

As a reminder, two young girls—10-year-old Sofia and 5-year-old Emilia—were killed on August 4 as a result of a Russian strike with guided bombs on Sumy. The children were in their own home when the Russian attack cut short their lives. Photos of the deceased sisters have appeared online.

During a working visit to the Sumy region on July 29, Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi discussed with military officials measures to protect the region from Russian guided airstrikes.

Russia attacked Zaporizhzhia with KAB bombs, leaving one person dead and six wounded.
