Zelenskyy announced a threefold reduction in missile deliveries for Ukraine's air defense system
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on August 5 that the number of missiles for air defense systems being supplied by international partners has decreased by two-thirds compared to 2025. He called on allies to speed up the delivery of weapons and expand the localization of air defense production in Ukraine.
The number of missiles for air defense systems that Ukraine receives from its partners has decreased threefold compared to 2025. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement following a meeting with military officials and government representatives.
During the meeting, three main issues were discussed with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Defense, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Main Intelligence Directorate, and the Office of the President. One of these issues was the situation with air defense.
“We have determined a plan for additional steps to protect infrastructure facilities in Ukraine. Unfortunately, this year, the supply of anti-ballistic missiles from our partners has significantly decreased. The number of air defense missiles being supplied has decreased threefold compared to 2025,” Zelenskyy said.
According to him, this applies not only to the summer period but to the entire first quarter of 2026.
“Our partners do have missiles. It is important that the necessary political decisions be made regarding supplies and the acceleration of production processes, particularly localization in Ukraine. This is what can significantly support not only our country but also the global protection of life,” the president emphasized.
As a reminder, Russia attacked Silpo distribution centers, resulting in fatalities.
As a result of Russia’s overnight missile attack on the night of August 5, production and logistics facilities belonging to the company “Epicenter” sustained significant damage. One employee was killed, and three others were injured.
As a result of a Russian drone attack on August 4 in Dnipro, a warehouse belonging to the company “Biosfera”—which was part of a 20,000-square-meter warehouse complex—was completely destroyed.
