Russia struck Sumy with five KAB bombs; there are casualties

On the night of August 10, Russian troops launched a massive strike on Sumy, using five guided aerial bombs. Hits were recorded at three locations in two districts of the city; civilian infrastructure facilities were targeted. There were casualties as a result of the attack.

 

This was reported by Oleg Grigorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

According to Grigorov, five strikes by guided aerial bombs on civilian targets in Sumy were recorded last night.

“Five strikes by guided aerial bombs on civilian infrastructure were recorded in Sumy,” the head of the Regional Military Administration said.

At least five people were injured as a result of the attack. The injured are receiving necessary medical care, and their condition is being assessed. No fatalities have been reported so far.

The shock wave and debris damaged:

  • private homes and apartment buildings;
  • civilian infrastructure facilities;
  • non-residential buildings in the area where the strikes occurred.

Serhiy Kryvosheyenko, head of the Sumy City Military Administration, specified that the strikes hit the Zarechny and Kovpakivsky districts of the city.

“The Russian aggressor launched a massive airstrike with five KAB bombs on Sumy,” Kryvosheyenko said.

Rescue workers, medical personnel, utility crews, and law enforcement officers are working at the impact sites. An assessment of the damaged areas is underway; specialists are documenting the aftermath of the strike and clearing debris. Information on the number of casualties and the extent of the damage is currently being verified.

As a reminder, on Friday, August 7, a World Health Organization humanitarian warehouse in Dnipro was destroyed as a result of an attack. There were no people on the premises at the time of the strike, and no casualties were reported.

Over the past 24 hours, the occupiers lost 1,130 soldiers and more than 400 pieces of military equipment.

In the Kherson region, one person was killed and two were wounded as a result of Russian shelling.
