Russia attacked Ukraine overnight with more than a hundred drones and a missile
On the night of August 10, Russia launched a massive strike against Ukraine using over a hundred attack drones and a missile fired from the Black Sea. Ukrainian air defenses destroyed and neutralized the aerial targets, repelling yet another enemy attack.
The enemy deployed an X-59/69 guided air-to-ground missile and three “Banderole” loitering munitions. They were launched from airspace over the Black Sea.
Additionally, 126 Shahed and Gerber strike drones, as well as “Parody” decoy drones, were flying toward Ukraine. Launches were recorded from the following directions:
- Kursk;
- Millerovo;
- Orel;
- Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Russia;
- temporarily occupied Donetsk;
- Gvardeyskoye, temporarily occupied Crimea.
As of 9:00 a.m., air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 92 enemy drones, including Shahed, Gerber, and other types. They also managed to neutralize three “Banderole” loitering munitions in the north, south, and east of the country.
According to preliminary data, an enemy missile failed to reach its target thanks to active countermeasures by the Defense Forces.
Strikes by attack drones were recorded at 22 locations. Debris from downed drones fell to the ground at two additional locations.
The attack is still ongoing, with isolated enemy drones remaining in the airspace, the Ukrainian Air Force added.
As a reminder, on Friday, August 7, a World Health Organization humanitarian warehouse in Dnipro was destroyed as a result of an attack. There were no people on the premises at the time of the strike, and no casualties were reported.
Over the past 24 hours, the occupiers lost 1,130 troops and more than 400 pieces of military equipment.
In the Kherson region, one person was killed and two were wounded as a result of Russian shelling.
