Russia again strikes Naftogaz facilities in Poltava region with drones

In the night of 20 February, Russian forces attacked oil and gas infrastructure in Poltava region using strike drones. The attack caused a fire and recorded damage.

This was reported with reference to the press service of Naftogaz.

According to the company, one of the infrastructure facilities came under enemy fire. A fire is ongoing at the site, with units of the State Emergency Service (DSNS) and emergency crews working on the scene.

Chairman of the Board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, Serhiy Koretsky, emphasized that this is yet another deliberate strike on energy infrastructure.

According to him, DSNS specialists and company brigades are working to eliminate the consequences of the attack under conditions of increased danger and the risk of repeated strikes

According to Vitaliy Djakivnych, head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, during the night’s enemy attack, a UAV fell on the territory of one of the enterprises in Myrhorod district.

“The impact caused a fire. According to the DSNS, elimination of the consequences is ongoing. Fortunately, there were no casualties,” the head of the regional administration reported.

Consequences of enemy attacks on Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv have also been published. In Zaporizhzhia, after a massive enemy air attack on the night of 1 February, energy workers restored electricity. There were no casualties in the city as a result of the Russian shelling.
